News JVTech ChatGPT: Revolutionary AI can also be very dangerous. An innovation that shouldn’t be put in everyone’s hands
ChatGPT is an extraordinary tool, you just have to know how to use it… OpenAI’s chatbot is now mature enough to provide ultra-precise information on almost any topic. During some tests, users even thought of coding programs with it, but is everything still possible with ChatGPT?
ChatGPT can create malware
While some worry about artificial intelligence capable of generating ultra-realistic images, others point to the “fraudulent” use of “chatbot”-type AIs. ChatGPT is the worthy representative of chatbots powered by artificial intelligence. OpenAi Labs, which developed the program, recently rolled out a major update – GPT-4 – to further optimize its AI.
Computer software researcher Aaron Mulgrew conducted a small experiment with this extraordinary tool. Indeed, as we have already mentioned, ChatGPT is capable of programming like a little genius and also offers possibilities to improve and use the code just generated. It’s through the website digital trends Aaron revealed that ChatGPT is fully capable of generating malware.
If you don’t know the term Malware is spyware that can install itself on a computer to perform various tasks. Common uses include: stealing personal information, using computer power to mine cryptocurrency, or simply destroying a computer from the inside.
In other words, malware is an extremely dangerous tool if it falls into the wrong hands. Luckily, Aaron is a accredited researcher for Forcepoint, a company dedicated to developing computer software. It was for experimental purposes that Aaron tried to program a malware without typing a single line, well, just a few: Kindly ask ChatGPT to do this for him.
But how did the researcher proceed?
Aaron Mulgrew even attempted to run an antivirus scan on his malware, and the results are unequivocal: the malware is not detected… In a matter of hours, Aaron created a virus that could enter a computer without being detected by a traditional antivirus program. Naturally, Aaron decided to disclose this to Digital Trends in order to create maximum awareness of the nefarious use of ChatGPT among users and professionals.
Using ChatGPT
ChatGPT is currently one of the most popular artificial intelligence. Generally, if you want to use the free version, the servers will crash after a few minutes due to the lack of servers stable enough to accommodate that many users.
While many netizens use ChatGPT as a kind of alternative Google, many of us are experimenting to push the limits of OpenAI’s chatbot.
Writing stylized texts, programming, answering questions, the possible uses are numerous and feed ChatGPT day after day. By using this large database, ChatGPT is able to generate increasingly accurate answers without knowing any limits. OpenAI must now respond to the potential malicious use of their software. If a user is able to generate malware or any other type of virus very easily, the internet could quickly drown in these types of programs.
OpenAI has not yet commented on these potential applications, but there is no doubt that researchers are already looking into the topic.
