It’s safe to say that Capcom’s marketing of Resident Evil 4 Remake is going well. After sharing a ton of great reviews last week declaring the remake a resounding success (including our own 5/5 review), Capcom has more to get players excited about.
Of course, Capcom is well aware of the constraints Resident Evil 4 has on fans old and new. As such, a short but sweet animated trailer for the game has been released, showing off the fan-favorite character in an even more charming, whimsical setting (thanks Kotaku). It does make that quiet, parasite-infested Spanish village look more appealing.
With its long title — “Resident Evil 4 Anime PV Resident Evil Masterpiece Theater – “Leon and the Mysterious Village” EP 1″ — and short 56-second runtime, this anime trailer is well worth your minute. time.
We see Leon finally descend upon the eerie village, and Ganados overwhelms him as he plays his usual role as a himbo. Sure enough, Leon’s head split open and a rainbow flew out. Leon’s late self landed on the stars with a bouquet of colmillos while the screen read: “You’re dead.”
The short animated trailer comes from a studio some of us may be familiar with, and that’s Nippon Animation. The Resident Evil 4 trailer is part of its World Masterpiece Theater program, which features animated adaptations of various popular media. I doubt we’ll see more, but it’s great to see some of Resident Evil 4’s iconic moments animated in such a fun, fun way.
If only parasite puppies and rainbows died in resident evil 4… Now this is an anime I’ll watch! What do you think of anime trailers?
“Resident Evil 4” will be released on March 24, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S.
