children of the forest Just out of Early Access, the game managed to sell 2 million copies within 24 hours of launch.
In case you somehow missed it, Children of the Forest is the hottest PC game right now, becoming one of the most popular titles on Steam even before the game’s release, even beating out the upcoming Starfield, which is arguably the most popular game on Steam. Welcome games are expected to be released this year outside of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Now, according to Children of the Forest developer Endnight Games, we know how well the game is doing, as it sold more than 2 million copies in its first 24 hours of release.
“Thanks to those who joined us on our ‘Children of the Forest’ Early Access journey, we sold over 2 million copies in the first 24 hours and we’re very excited about what we have in store for players in the coming weeks,” reads Endnight Games A tweet announcing the achievement. That’s a pretty impressive number for an Early Access game, and assuming there are no roadblocks in the development pipeline, it lays a good foundation for continued success.
The game was originally slated to launch last year, but polishing content was delayed due to early access, though that meant polishing wouldn’t be the last step the developers had to do. Once again set on a remote island, this time players are tasked with finding a missing billionaire. The problem is that this particular island is full of cannibals, so, it’s not an ideal situation in the real world, but it’s a video game, so who cares.
Children of the Forest is currently scheduled to be in Early Access for approximately six to eight months, and is available to purchase on Steam right now.
