In 2013, Ari Gibson and William Pellen, then founding Team Cherry, entered a video game creation competition and in just 72 hours created the beginnings of what would become an independent gaming icon.

Hollow Knight has become a true benchmark of the Metroidvania genre over time. A mix of action-adventure and platformer in which we’ll go from zone to zone to access new skills that will allow us to unlock new paths on a series of maps while facing many enemies and bosses. The game is a sequel to the prototype developed during a game jam in 2013. It will be released in 2017 and sold more than 3 million copies, a huge success for an independent game. First announced in 2019, the sequel Hollow Knight: Silksong has been the talk of the town at conferences like the Nintendo Direct. Upon its release, Hollow Knight was recognized as a true artistic and musical feat, not to mention the gameplay, and caught the attention of many gamers, some of whom previously swore only by Nintendo’s works when it came to Metroidvania.
