Cinema highlights 2022: 26 blockbusters and insider tips for the coming year

In 2021 the world of film went up and down. Cinemas closed and reopened, films were postponed or only streamed, and the Oscars were late (and boring with an extraordinarily humorless show). Everything should get better in 2022.

In any case, the already known theatrical releases in the coming months are already looking promising. Of course, a lot can still change and, especially in the second half of the year, only a few titles are known, but: Have fun with our overview of the cinema year 2022!

The King’s Man – The Beginning (6. Januar 2022)

After several postponements (the film should actually start in February 2020), the “Kingsman” prequel “The King’s Man – The Beginning” will be released in German cinemas at the beginning of January and shows the beginnings of the Kingsman Association during the First World War. An official 3rd part of the “Kingsman” series is still in progress.

Scream (13. Januar 2022)

Although the title of the film makes it a secret for inexplicable reasons, “Scream” fans of course know that this is already the 5th part of the black-humored slasher series. The well-known characters from previous films are back again (if they are still alive), but Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett had to step in as directors for Wes Craven, who died in 2015.

Spencer (13. Januar 2022)

Kristen Stewart can be seen in “Spencer” as Princess Diana, who spends a Christmas party with the British royal family and realizes more and more that this life makes her unhappy. The film has already been shown in the USA (and you can also see “Spencer” on the stream) and critics particularly praised Stewart’s acting.
