Excellent news: Cities: Skylines 2 is receiving a major life-saving patch with bonus free content announced in three different phases. A nice comeback for the management game.
The latest patch from Cities: Skylines 2 is finally here and includes numerous fixes for issues players have encountered since the game’s release. This patch addresses important topics such as dealing with the homeless, pollution, and many other aspects of gameplay. As a bonus there is free content.
Cities Skylines 2 improves significantly
One of the biggest changes this update brings to Cities Skylines 2 concerns pollution. Unfortunately, this patch increases its impact rather than reducing it. Air pollution now spreads further and takes longer to dissipate. A surprising adjustment that may present players with new challenges. The idea is to make pollution management more realistic. but that could make it more difficult for many cities.
Noise pollution was also reweighted. Conventional roads aren’t expected to change much in terms of noise, but highways will cause a little more noise pollution. Vehicle pollution is now displayed correctly on roundabouts and map edges.
The patch also fixes an annoying bug related to homeless people. In some parts of the game, these citizens were stuck in places like the international airport, waiting for public transportation that never came. This issue has now been resolved and homeless people will no longer leave their tents in parks after they leave.
Welcome adjustments
The tourism system has also benefited from some improvements. Hotels are now correctly located in commercial areasand tourists who tended to be stuck in buildings with no real activity will finally behave more coherently.
Another notable change concerns the spread of fires. The likelihood of a fire spreading between buildings has increased, making the response of firefighters more important than ever. Players must therefore be particularly vigilant to avoid disasters in their cities.
In addition to these major changes, the patch also includes UI improvements, making the game smoother and more playable. Fixed UI elements that disappeared or became inoperable. Finally, much to the relief of players, an audio bug that caused a strange noise when loading screens has been fixed.
A nice surprise
