The successful city building simulation Cities: Skylines is now celebrating its eighth anniversary – in the form of three new Content Creator Packs.
While looks are slowly but surely turning towards the recently announced sequel Cities: Skylines II, the popular predecessor is celebrating its eighth anniversary. Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order are now launching three content creator packs, all of which you can get from March 22 next week.
Specifically, there are the following DLC packages with the above content in seven days:
- Africa in Miniature: A new world of opportunities on the African continent. Longtime Cities fan and 3D artist Setonji “Prince Set” Hotonu’s first content creator pack allows players to explore Africa’s extraordinarily diverse architecture, vibrant colors and unique urban mix.
- Africa In Miniature features a total of 28 new buildings inspired by the city’s existing masterpieces and unique architectural concepts.
- sports facilities: The sports season never ends in this content creator pack from community modder BadPeanut. From unique stadiums to community sports parks, this content creator pack has everything players need to meet their city’s sporting needs!
- Players can watch citizens enjoy their favorite game! All major stadiums have realistic football, baseball and american football animations – and some new cool stats to check out. Some of them also have integrated public transport. Players who prefer smaller crowds try community sports parks: they are smaller and can be placed anywhere.
- Shopping centers: It’s time for some retail extravagance! Community modder KingLeno’s Shopping Malls Content Creator Pack allows city builders to take their shopping experience to the next level by adding a variety of malls to their city.
- This Content Creator Pack features more than 60 objects including department stores, malls, and fast food restaurants for players to populate their shopping areas.
The following new radio stations will also find their way into the game:
- JADIA Radio Station: The African continent is huge and its music is diverse. JADIA Radio Station (Just Another Day in Africa) is a collection of 16 tracks by musician Wan Shey, who pays homage to his country’s musical traditions and gives new impetus to cities: Skylines.
- 80’s Movies Tunes: This time we’re taking players to the cinema! “80’s Movies Tunes” is a radio station inspired by the classics of the 80’s. With more than 15 tracks and around 70 minutes of music, we dive into the past.
- Pop-Punk-Radio: We created this radio station for all the pop punk city builders out there. If you like pop punk music, then this radio station is for you! Featuring 16 tracks and over 75 minutes of powerful, rock hard music.
Also available on the same day is the free Hubs and Transport content update, which improves the transport system in the main game as well as in the After Dark, Snowfall, Natural Disasters and Mass Transit expansions.
But Cities: Skylines is far from over, because a second wave of content packs and a mini-expansion are to follow in May. General support for the game is set to continue through the end of the year.
