Unfortunately, Halo Infinite’s story mode co-op is still getting delayed. Priority will be given to resolving issues and unfolding the second season of Lone Wolves.
Of course, Halo Infinite and 343 Industries are still experiencing turbulence. A highly anticipated mode is postponed yet again as the studio loses another key developer. To make up for the negatives, the studio is telling us more about multiplayer season 2, which will be released on time.
Cooperation is not for tomorrow
Absent at the launch of Halo Infinite and further pushed back thereafter, Co-op mode will not be available when Multiplayer Season 2 is released. Why ? Several reasons are intertwined. The Atelier explains:
We’re making great progress with the online co-op campaign. But the reality is that it will take longer to deliver a high-quality, fully-functional four-player online co-op experience.in such a huge and open world.
We’re also committed to delivering a great local co-operative experience across all Xbox consoles from One to Series X, in two parts via split-screen. The non-linear and very open parts of the campaign present significant split-screen challenges that took us longer to solve.
All of this means that We will not be able to deliver online co-op on May 3rd when Season 2 starts. However, we always aim a release during Season 2 for online co-op and later for local split-screen co-op.
Halo Infinite’s Forge mode, which allows for level building and therefore a tailored experience, should arrive with Season 3 as planned, without further information. The co-op delay is also attributed to a focus on resolving the issues raised by the community in Season 2 and to give the developers a break.
Priority for the well-being of the studio
That last point is the “Zero Priority” of the studio that takes care of the health of all members so that they have one “Pace of Sustainable Development” with a “Work-Life Balance”.
Priority zero means that sometimes we have to slow down in order to be able to go faster later. Truth be told, the pace of the past few months has been slower than expected and we sincerely thank you for your patience.
At the same time, Andrew Wittlead multiplayer developer, announces his departure for “relax and recharge the batteries”.
Halo Infinite: First Details on Season 2 “Lone Wolves”
We won’t end with another bad news, so here’s a very good one for those who are waiting: Halo Infinite Multiplayer kicks off its second season on May 3, 2022 with Lone Wolves. It is therefore based on that lone wolf theme with soldiers/hunters/trackers having a sense of ingenuity when it comes to finding resources or conducting their business in the middle of enemy territory.
There will be at least two new maps, Catalyst (Arena) and Breaker (Battle), skins, as well as new modes including the following three:
- Last Spartan Standing: Each for their apple in an Elimination-type context.
- Land Grab: the chef’s surprise, be patient!
- King of the Hill: The famous one that fans know well but this episode will bring its touch however
How do you react to all this news, good and bad? tell us Everyone at Remarks.
