Cobra Kai Season 6 Coming To Netflix In 2024? Producers indicate delays

After “Cobra Kai” even offered us two seasons last year, season 6 could only be released in 2024. Netzwelt reveals why the producers expect delays.

• “Cobra Kai” Season 6 hasn’t been officially confirmed, but seems to be coming – eventually.
• Unlike before, fans have to be prepared for a longer wait this time.
• With producers busy with the series Obliterated, Cobra Kai could slip into 2024.

Season 5 of “Cobra Kai” only appeared on Netflix in early September 2022, so no fan is expecting the release of season 6 yet. On the other hand, it is a little surprising that Netflix has not yet officially confirmed that the “Karate Kid” series will be continued with another season.

However, there was never really any reason to worry, because “Cobra Kai” is far too successful and also quite cheap to produce, which is why Netflix should stick to the series for a long time. In conversation with Deadline Cobra Kai producers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg said Season 6 is actually just a matter of time.

Currently, however, the producer trio is working on the action comedy series “‘Obliterated”, also for Netflix. Since they can’t take care of two series at the same time, “Cobra Kai” has to take a back seat.

We still work with Sony and Netflix [an “Cobra Kai”] and we don’t have an official Season 6 to announce yet. What we can say is that we think about these characters all the time. We are currently working on “Obliterated” for Sony and Netflix. We’re in the second month of production and I think it’s going to blow people’s minds. But we’re confident there’s more “Cobra Kai” on the horizon. There may be a slightly longer wait as we’re in the middle of work on the other series, but it won’t be long if everything goes as we expect.

However, the film Sam and Victor’s Day Off, a spin-off of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, is not said to stand in the way of Cobra Kai, although the project is also being produced by Heald, Hurwitz and Schlossberg.

Although all projects seem to be going according to plan, if you consider that the scripts for “Cobra Kai” season 6 will only be written in a few months and that filming will then take another few months, the new episodes could not start until 2024 to be expected.

The delay could have consequences for the entire series, as many of the cast will soon be too old for their roles as karate students. Of course, season 6 still has to show the Sekai-Takai tournament, but a 7th season after that is rather doubtful. In the coming months and years, we will find out how it will ultimately really come about in Netflix’s news program.
