Since the last major update, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are no longer running smoothly for many players. Complaints about slow matchmaking, high pings, faulty lobbies and unrated XP progress increase.
We can also confirm the problems and have rarely been able to join matches smoothly in the past few days. They were also common Friends kicked out of our lobbies. While many problems were relatively easy to fix by simply repeating the tests, they were annoying anyway.
Activision and Infinity Ward have now announced on Twitter that the situation is on the screen – a hotfix has now been rolled out to correct the errors in matchmaking.
We’ve rolled out a fix to resolve an issue with connections and long wait times while matchmaking in #ModernWarfare and #Warzone lobbies and will continue to monitor. Thank you for your patience.

Complaints continue
Even after the patch The complaints do not stop. Apparently, many players continue to have the problems mentioned, as the reactions to the Twitter post embedded above show.
For example, players post a lobby that searches for matches until the targeted ping »Under 5000« lies. CoD: MW always tries to find the lowest possible ping matches as planned and then extends the search step by step.

The developers had already noted that they wanted to monitor the situation closely. Further hotfixes in the next few hours and days are therefore quite possible. It would be wished for the players that everything will soon run smoothly, after all, the grind is currently particularly worthwhile:

The 32 GB 1.20 update for CoD: MW and Warzone, which caused these problems, brought among other things a new weapon, a playlist update, numerous improvements to the armorer and the much anticipated obsidian camo.
New Most Wanted quests are now available, especially in Warzone, and mysterious red access cards are appearing in the game world. There are also changes to the death zone and the new item armor bag.
