As soon as a multiplayer game goes through the roof, there are cheaters. Laws of the gaming world. Was the case with PUBG and now also applies to Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare. Activision Blizzard and developer Infinity Ward have said they have banned over 70,000 fraudsters who gain advantages in matches with unfair hacks. Further measures now follow.
If you report players as potential cheaters in Warzone or Modern Warfare, you will receive confirmation if they have been banned. Even more important: Suspected cheaters end up in a specially reserved matchmaking that allows them to compete against other suspected cheaters. So there is a kind Cheater hell for all those who stand out as potential fraudsters in the game.

How exactly this system works is not explained. There is a lot of approval in the comments on Twitter, but some users consider that one can’t trust every cheater report by players. If we got a euro every time someone in Warzone insulted us as a cheater because we send it on the boards from 100 meters away, then we could probably sit out the corona crisis in the holiday home.
It is currently unclear whether suspected cheaters only end up in matchmaking hell after a certain number of reports – and whether report spammers are also punished because they use the system to let off steam.
Should be able to assume that a system is in place where many reports from one person against many players will be viewed as poor sport reports with less priority, while many reports on a single player from many players would be treated more seriously in need of investigation .

In general, the developers are tough on any form of misconduct. Even minor violations lead to a permanent reset of your achievements and activation.
There is "no tolerance towards cheaters," they say. Since cheaters are a big problem on the PC, many console players even switch off their crossplay feature to protect themselves from it.
