Despite the release of Starfield, one of Xbox’s flagship games, Hellblade 2, scheduled for release in 2024, could become one of Xbox’s most important games. And here’s why.
The second part of Hellblade is the first game with PlayStation DNA. In fact, it will be a story-driven single-player game that features an immersive setup entirely in the spirit of PS4-era titles. What’s more, it’s the first attempt that could prove Xbox did the right thing to buy a lot of studios in 2018. With the Ninja Theory buyout, a lot more ways have been explored to make a good game for 2024. The Hellblade franchise also features a narrative that blends Greek mythology with the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, as well as Norse mythology. The video in the header explains this folklore in more detail. The character we play is very expressive thanks to the work of the editor who plays her, Mélina Juergens. Hellblade also has everything to have the right to its own adaptation in series or in film, like many games before it, for example The Last of Us or Mario.
