It’s the 10th anniversary of the beloved animated series over the garden walland released a stop-motion animated short film to celebrate.

Every year, as the leaves begin to turn brown, orange, red, and gold, one thought crosses every Halloween fan’s mind: “Beyond the Garden Wall” season is here. Fall (or fall as many people call it in America) is the absolute coziest season when the weather is actually pleasant, and miniseries like Over the Garden Wall are the perfect pairing. Luckily, its creator, Patrick McHale, knows there’s too much of a good thing and there hasn’t been another season since its release, but that changes this year and it’s all about celebrating the The tenth anniversary of the show.

Cartoon Network announced the news earlier this year, and to commemorate the occasion, Wallace & Gromit creator Aardman created a stop-motion animated short film, Over the Garden Wall, which celebrates its 10th anniversary today. In honor of the anniversary, the short film has been released. You can watch it above and I really recommend you should watch it, it’s absolutely brilliant. All the puppets have a wooden appearance and an almost Pinocchio-like quality, which is interesting considering McHale co-created the stop-motion Pinocchio movies with Guillermo del Toro.

I admit I’m not entirely sure if the dialogue is all new, as there’s definitely some archival voice acting from Goofy Greg, but all the animation is new, so let’s see the characters from the miniseries in a lovely new light.

If any of you are experiencing Over the Garden Wall for the first time because of this short film, I really recommend you give it a look – it’s only 10 episodes of 10 minutes each, so it’s easy to see leaves falling from the trees You’ll soon discover your presence as you float down.
