Aldi will soon be offering an affordable folding e-bike in its online shop. The Pedelec from Sachsenrad offers a decent range and a robust frame.

- From April 28th, Aldi will be offering a folding e-bike in its online shop.
- The Pedelec comes from the traditional German manufacturer Sachsenrad from Leipzig.
- The range is up to 80 kilometers and the frame is made of a robust magnesium alloy.
Folding bikes are particularly popular with commuters because they can be easily taken on buses and trains. But they are also practical on vacation because they fit in the car or motorhome and can be used on site for tours or shopping trips. Of course, the compact bikes are now also available as e-bikes.
Lidl currently has a cheap e-folding bike in its online shop, and from April 28th Aldi will also be offering an inexpensive e-folding bike.
The e-bike comes from the traditional German manufacturer Sachsenrad from Leipzig. It offers a sturdy magnesium alloy frame and 20-inch tires. At 19.8 kilograms, it is also lighter than the Lidl version. It is approved for a total weight of up to 120 kilograms.
The built-in battery fits in the frame. According to the manufacturer, it offers sufficient capacity for up to 80 kilometers in ECO mode. There is no information from the dealer or manufacturer about engine performance.
Height-adjustable handlebars
Other features include a lighting system, a 6-speed Shimano gear system and mechanical disc brakes. The handlebar is height adjustable and foldable.
The e-bike has a 3-fold folding system with a magnetic holder. When folded it measures 80 x 43 x 67 centimeters.

The folding bike from Sachsenrad has a recommended retail price of just under 1,700 dollars. The manufacturer currently charges this price in its own online shop. At Aldi, only 1,149 dollars will be due from April 28th, while at other retailers prices currently start at 1,499 dollars.
