Due to the corona virus, travel within Germany and abroad is currently not recommended. Bahn is currently staying and refunds part of the annual fee paid to the Bahncard owner. This is how you ensure compensation.

For Bahncard 25 or Bahncard 50 cardholders, this is good news. Upon request, you will receive a Deutsche Bahn travel voucher. To this end, the company is responding to the corona crisis, which actually makes travel almost impossible. Although Bahn pointed out that Bahncard can be used for one year, and even if there are temporary restrictions, the cost can be quickly recovered after a short trip, but the company still wants to set an example and compensate the owner for lost travel options.

On a specially designed website, you must provide your name, email address, date of birth and Bahncard number. You will then receive the travel voucher via email. The number of vouchers depends on the type of your Bahncard. The train will reimburse you up to 50 Euros in the form of a coupon.

However, you can only apply for coupons if you purchase Bahncard before March 13. If you have already applied for a travel voucher, you must wait patiently. The railway company pointed out that it may currently need to wait for the processing time of the application.

Purchased tickets can be cancelled or exchanged

The train also expressed its favor on passengers. Travel tickets as of April 30 can currently be cancelled or rebooked. However, this trip must be completed by June 30.
