The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES for short, will open its doors to press representatives on January 3, 2022. One day later, Nvidia, AMD and Intel are ringing the technology fair with their respective keynotes for the public. The presentation by Intel is expected with great excitement, because the graphics cards of the Arc Alchemist series (DG2, Xe HPG) will be presented there.
It is hardly surprising that in the run-up to the CES, rumors about competition for Nvidia and AMD are increasing. The latest information is about the release – when will the new Intel graphics cards appear?

Major attack on RTX 4000 and RX 7000 is to take place in 2023
Release reportedly postponed from January to March 2022
Like the Chinese website ITHome citing a post in Expreview Forum reports, the launch of the DG2 accelerator will take place in March 2022. Originally, January 2022, i.e. directly after CES, was planned. However, no mention is made of the reasons for the alleged postponement.
What is certain, however, is that the release should take place in the first quarter of 2022. Intel has already confirmed this several times and can also be found on the Website of the chip giant.
Which Arc Alchemist models should be released in March?
According to ITHome, the start is the high-end model Intel Arc Alchemist A780 (name has not yet been officially confirmed) with 4,096 cores and the upper middle class A750 (name also not confirmed) with 3,072 processing units.
According to previous rumors, the top model A780 will challenge the Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070 or RTX 3070 Ti, while the A750 will challenge the RTX 3060 /3060 Ti Make competition.
The specs at a glance:
A780* | Cores: 4.096 | Storage: 16,0 GByte GDDR6 | TGP: ca. 225 Watt |
A750* | Cores: 3.072 | Storage: 12,0 GByte GDDR6 | TGP: 150 to 200 watts |
What will Intel’s graphics cards cost?
The A780 is rumored to have an MSRP of between $ 500 and $ 600. In view of the persistently difficult situation on the graphics card market, the recommended retail price does not matter anyway. As a rule of thumb: As a precaution, calculate at least twice as much. When we expect a general improvement in the situation, you can find out in the following article:

Will graphics cards finally get cheaper again in 2022?
What do you all mean? Can Intel land a hit with its first hit with dedicated graphics cards and compete with Nvidia and AMD? Or do you think Arc Alchemist might appear so late that the RTX 4000 and RX 7000 are long on their way? Feel free to write it in the comments!
