As a remake, Knights of the Old Republic should make the hearts of Star Wars fans beat faster again. However, the development of the new edition turns out to be more complicated than expected. Now there are conflicting reports regarding the potential release of the Kotor remake. We’ll bring you up to date.
Kotor remake shouldn’t be delayed, insider disagrees
That happened: As recently as July 2022, a report by Bloomberg editor and industry expert Jason Schreier painted a worrying picture of the current development status of the Kotor remake. In a nutshell: The work should not go as planned, the previous procedure is no longer tenable.
Schreier reported that the development of the Kotor remake would be put on hold as a result. The release originally planned for the end of 2022 is anything but sustainable and the Aspyr studio has to be withdrawn from the project. To date, neither developers nor publishers have officially commented on the report.

Supposedly massive problems, release uncertain
Is there any good news? made last week a financial report by Embracer Group – which also includes Aspyr – the round, according to which one of the company’s AAA projects had to switch to another development studio. However, the studio swap should not have any impact on the planned release of the title in question.
Even if it wasn’t explicitly said, the assumption is that this is the Kotor remake. In the course of his disclosure report, Schreier already speculated that Aspyr could hand over the project to Saber Interactive, which has so far been involved in supporting the remake of the Star Wars game.
However, fans should not rejoice too soon: Jason Schreier spoke up again and emphasizes that the Kotor remake could not be released in 2022 under any circumstances. He even thinks it will be released in 2024 wishful thinking

It cannot be ruled out that the Embracer Group is not currently forecasting a postponement, but will announce this at a later date.
