If you are not familiar with Consumer Nightan indie horror game about working in a supermarket and having to deal with people asking for things every two seconds. Never mind that it made my heart race. Regardless, the game seems to have a full release date.
While an unfinished version of the game has been available through Itch.io since 2020 – it was actually part of the “Racial Justice and Equality” bundle hosted by the platform that year – if you’ve visited its Steam page in recent years, you’ll notice that its release is still listed as “coming soon.”

But now it looks like that will soon change, with indie developer Germfood tweeting that “Consumer Nights (full version) will be released on October 28th,” and going on to say that it took them four years to complete the game. So while they haven’t provided any more details just yet, it sounds like you’ll be able to experience the full experience of all of the “nights” – which are levels, by the looks of it – which is the story Germfood wants to create.
If you’ve already purchased the version currently available on the Itch platform, it doesn’t appear that you will need to buy the game again once the full version is released, with the listing on the platform including a note: “This game is in development. If you purchase the game, you will receive any future updates for free.”
In the meantime, you can watch the trailer below to get a taste of what’s to come:
Also, if you’re still unsure, here’s a description: “Start your new job as a retail store employee and try to balance stacking items on empty shelves, clean up vomit, maintain the store’s standards, deal with the constant demands of fast-moving consumers, and more… all while staying sane. This is a fast-paced, first-person thrill ride that evokes the mundane fears of everyday life.”
