The year 2020 is full of challenges for the video game industry. Due to the difficult work situation, more and more large games are being pushed back by the corona pandemic. The wave of postponements does not stop at large studios either, most recently, for example, the release of the MMOs New World from Amazon Gamestudios had to be postponed to a later date.
But call-of-duty fans can breathe a sigh of relief: according to the official statement, the development for the still unnamed Call of Duty 2020 is "on the right track despite new challenges" and could be completed this year.

What does the corona virus mean for games and films?
For Christmas on a new generation of consoles & PCs
At an investor conference, Daniel Alegre, President and COO of Activision Blizzard, said that Call of Duty 2020 "already looks fantastic" and that everything is going according to plan for the 2020 release.
Presumably the new part of the Christmas shooter series will appear and will be the first part of the series that on the new PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles is published – in addition to the PC, of course.
"Although the switch to remote working brings with it some challenges in the areas of creative collaboration, motion capture, soundtracking, localization and quality assurance, we are working on measures to master them."
At the conference, Alegre also announced a time window for the release of WoW Shadowlands: The add-on to World of Warcraft should appear in the fourth quarter of 2020 and will also not be affected by the wave of postponements.
What do we expect from CoD 2020?
The rumor mill around the new part is bubbling: Supposedly CoD 2020 could play during the cold war and lead you to Vietnam and Korea within these 40 years.
