Warhammer 40K Darktide: Trailer summarizes the main improvements in Update 4
The most important improvements summarized in a nutshell:
- Shrine of the Omnissiah: The crafting station has been expanded to provide weapons with blessings in a more targeted manner, i.e. to improve them and adapt them to your own playstyle.
- More missions appear at the same time. The available difficulty levels have also been adjusted. The side missions now give out specific rewards such as experience points, based on the selected difficulty level.
- More Direct Rewards: It’s giving way now everyone Mission a kind gift from the Emperor. Depending on the difficulty and mission specifics applied, the chance of higher-class loot increases.
- Buy all weapons at any time: Players can now specifically buy the base blueprints for weapons in the Armory and no longer have to rely on random offers.
- Sir Melk’s weekly missions have been reworked. So Fatshark removed those
most laborious
tasks and added new ones. Overall, the tasks should be faster to complete and more rewarding. - Many weapon and class balance improvements were made.

Many steps in the right direction
Warhammer 40,000 Darktide gave critics the impression that it was designed for a lengthy grind. Players punished the game for this with mixed reviews and rapidly declining live player counts.
Update 4 is now getting a lot more positive reactions from the community, as can be seen in the official forum and up Reddit can be read.
Many criticisms from the community can be found in the patch notes. For example, the random weapons in the shop met with little approval, as did the limited crafting options.
It remains to be seen whether the number of players will also recover over time. And it will be exciting to see how Fatshark plans to continue with their co-op shooter in future updates.
