However, when Blair announces that he won’t be celebrating Christmas Eve at home for the first time this year, Luther and his wife Nora finally see their chance to escape all the Christmas kitsch. They want to skip the celebration of love completely this year and escape to the Caribbean. They use the money they have saved to book a cruise – much to the suspicion of their neighbors. But then their plans are suddenly thwarted when Blair suddenly announces that she will be coming home for the holidays. Now Luther and Nora only have a few hours left to organize a perfect party.

The 2004 film is based on the novel “The Feast” by John Grisham. The film was directed by Joe Roth and written by Chris Columbus. It was primarily filmed in California, using the fictional Hemlock Street in Riverside, California as the backdrop. A top-class cast was recruited for the Christmas comedy.
