The medieval strategy epic Crusader Kings III has been available for the PC since autumn 2020, but console players should also be able to enjoy the title in a few weeks.
In a press release, the specific release date for the previously announced console version of Crusader Kings III has finally been confirmed. The title, well-known among PC strategists, is known to be released for the newer platforms Xbox Series X/S and PS5 – and the waiting time will not be long.
The good piece from Paradox Interactive should be available for both platforms from March 29, 2022. With this, the makers want to reach a completely new group of players and enable them to build a dynasty in the historical strategy game.
To this end, they have teamed up with the Lab42 development team to adapt the dynamic gameplay of Crusader Kings III to the new console environment. The UI has been redesigned and optimized specifically for the consoles, along with a new control scheme designed specifically for larger screens and console gamepads.
The new controls should allow you to quickly and easily navigate through the game’s menus – using triggers, bumpers and quick movements of the analog stick. The console version also supports the main features of the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation5, such as fast load times for a seamless gaming experience, as well as haptic and adaptive trigger controller feedback.
On the PS5, the stress mechanics of the game should be noticeable via DualSense. For example, the more stress a character has accumulated, the more resistance is applied to the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers. The PS5 Activities feature and gameplay also provide a platform to help new players take their first steps into the world of Crusader Kings.
