The corona virus has also noticeably changed the world of work, after all, many companies had to noticeably expand the possibilities of working from home. This also applies to Cryiss developer Crytek, who, after an interim conclusion, now wants to continue working from home.
The pandemic has also left its mark in the games industry, after all many developers switched to working from home – and that caused a lot of shifts. The reason given was often that the work could not be carried out as efficiently as in the studio on site. Things seem to be quite different at Crytek.
As is well known, the Germany-based studio is currently working on the promising shooter sequel Crysis 4. The work on the game seems to be progressing well, despite a lot of home office lately. Reason enough for Crytek to now make working from home a permanent option for employees.
In an official announcement, it was announced that the home office option known from the pandemic would now be established independently of the Corona situation until further notice. Old and new employees can develop and program diligently both in the on-site studio and from home.
In this context, Crytek emphasizes that work on both Hunt: Showdown and the upcoming Crysis 4 is absolutely on schedule; Delays compared to the progress before the pandemic were not observed.
Despite the home office option, the offices in Frankfurt and Istanbul, Turkey, will remain open; So there should be no closures. According to the company, around 80 percent of Crytek’s workforce is currently working from home; this is sometimes also active in the USA, India, Brazil, China, the Phillipines and scattered across Europe. Future developers could also benefit from working from home; there are currently around 100 positions to be filled.
Crytek is officially continuing its famous Crysis shooter series with a new installment.
