The leaks and Twitter posts were not unfounded. Crytek has now officially announced Crysis Remastered. The game will be released for PC, PS4, Xbox One and – surprise – Nintendo Switch in summer 2020.
In cooperation with Saber Interactive, the open world shooter receives revised graphics, upgraded assets and higher-resolution textures. Among other things, an HD texture pack, motion blur, parallax occlusion mapping and many other effects are new on board. In addition, there are also volumetric fog and software-based ray tracing.
At that time, Crysis was particularly impressed with his advanced technology. The shooter sends you on a rescue mission on a North Korean island chain, where you have to deal with an alien invasion. Thanks to your nanosuit, you have the means to withstand the attacks, complemented by an extensive arsenal of modular weapons.
