Cyberpunk 2077: And another new patch – Update 1.63 is here

Cyberpunk, patch, update

Despite the ongoing production of Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt RED still has a team working on the main game. Now there is another patch.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, which is due to be released on September 26th, should certainly be the focus of CD Projekt RED at the moment. But that doesn’t mean that the software tinkerers are lazy about the main game.

The studio just announced that with update 1.63 another patch for the game will be delivered today, on all platforms.

Don’t expect any big surprises though, they’re more likely to come with update 1.70 that comes with Phantom Liberty. Instead, the patch includes a slew of quest and open-world fixes, some UI and technical issues, and a bug that impacted performance on the Xbox Series during extended play. Furthermore, the maximum number of saves on the Xbox will be adjusted.

Here are the complete patch notes in detail:

Quests

  • Fixed the issue where selecting a blue dialogue option on the second call with Mitch could cause the call to become permanently stuck on screen.
  • All Along the Watchtower – Fixed a bug where V was killed after crossing the border.
  • Chippin’ In – It should now be possible to examine all clues on the Ebunike without being detected.
  • Gimme Danger – Fixed a bug where all targets disappeared from the journal.
  • I Walk the Line – Fixed a bug where V could die for no reason in the quest.
  • Lightning Breaks – Fixed a bug where Panam would not appear in front of the garage, but spawn in the motel instead.
  • Machine Gun – Fixed a bug where dialogue with Skippy wouldn’t activate after killing 50 enemies and V couldn’t put down Skippy.
  • Never Fade Away – Fixed a bug where Rogue would disappear from the couch in Atlantis, preventing the quest from continuing.
  • Only Pain – Fixed a bug where the objective “Neutralize the cops” could not be completed because the cops weren’t there.
  • Play It Safe – Fixed the issue where holograms and parade cars would disappear after loading an autosave.
  • Play It Safe – Fixed a bug where Takemura would not call to start the parade mission.
  • Pyramid Song – Fixed a bug where Judy was teleported underground after entering the church.
  • Search and Destroy – Takemura now properly hides instead of simply standing in the middle of the room during Arasaka’s attack.
  • Hot Sled – Fixed a bug where the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech spawned underground, preventing the quest from progressing.
  • Small Man, Big Mouth – Enemies and truck now properly spawn.
  • The Heist – Fixed a bug where Jackie wasn’t in front of the afterlife.
  • With a Little Help from My Friends – Fixed a bug where the nomads weren’t at the station.

Open World

  • Fixed several bugs where quests would still show as “Undiscovered” and could not be started when V was approaching.
  • Fixed an issue where some NPCs in crowds in Rancho Coronado would have subtitles appear below them instead of above them.
  • Quest: Where It Hurts – V will no longer appear with his back to the mirror in the mirror in the dojo.
  • Quest: Last Login – Fixed a bug where a quest item could be collected before the quest started, disrupting the mission flow.
  • Quest: Farewell Party – Fixed a bug where you couldn’t get in the car with Flavio.
  • Quest: Guinea Pigs – All security robots in the hotel will now engage in combat as intended.
  • Quest: On a Short Leash – Fixed an issue where the quest would still appear with no objective after completion.
  • Quest: Suicide and Manslaughter – Fixed an issue where the quest could be reactivated after completion and then get stuck on the “Steal the CCTV footage” objective.
  • Crime Report: Blood in the Air – Fixed a bug where the quest would get stuck on the “Search the crate” objective even though the crate had already been searched.
  • Crime Report: Red Comrades – Fixed a bug where the hideout could not be searched.

  • Fixed an issue where devices could no longer be used after opening the map.
  • Fixed the issue where the FSR indicator was not greyed out after restarting the game with dynamic resolution scaling enabled.

Chart

  • Fixed the issue where flashes of colorful light could be seen around the edges of some objects with DLSS enabled.
