It just doesn’t stop! Another bug in Cyberpunk 2077 makes your save files unusable. But there are ways to protect the saves.
As if Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t have enough bugs and glitches already, another bug popped up in the game. A savegame bug is currently permanently destroying the scores of some PC players. A large number of items and crafting materials in your inventory seem to be causing the problem.
If you get the message “The saved game is damaged and cannot be loaded “if I received it, it is already too late. You then only have the option of loading an older saved game. According to publisher GOG, the bug is due to the preset maximum size of 8Mbytes. Once this is exceeded , nothing can be done with the score.
So you should check regularly whether your score is getting closer to the critical size. You should also avoid owning a lot of objects or crafting materials, because they increase the file size. It is also advisable to save often so that you can access as many older games as possible in an emergency. You can find your save status under this path in Explorer: %PROFILNAME%Saved GamesCD Projekt RedCyberpunk 2077.
The current patch 1.05 has not fixed the bug in the meantime and GOG only says that the maximum memory size will probably be increased in upcoming patches. Games that have already been destroyed are currently irreparable, GOG continues. For the players who suffer from the bug, this is of course a less than satisfactory statement. It is to be hoped that CD Projekt RED and GOG will quickly get the problem under control.
