Should it actually finally come true? We’ve been waiting for the next-gen versions of the cyberpunk role-playing game for quite some time, but now there are apparently concrete signals that something is happening.
Could it actually be that the release of at least the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 is getting closer? A tweet from @PlayStationSize, an account that avidly scours PlayStation Store data to keep tabs on install sizes of upcoming games, among other things, has apparently unearthed new artwork that is the cover art for the Next- Gen version could act. @PlayStationSize assumes that a release in the period mid-February to early March can be expected.
That would at least match the last statement from CD Projekt RED, which had announced a release for the first quarter of 2022. In November, a financial report confirmed that the targeted period should be adhered to. If so, you’ll soon have the native PS5 version, as well as the free upgrade of the PS4 version, and hopefully the Xbox Series versions to go along with it.
An official statement on this is still pending.
Cyberpunk 2077’s next-gen upgrade was originally supposed to be released in 2021, but had to be postponed several times due to improvements to the game, which was released in a desolate state at the time. The same fate shares the next-gen version of The Witcher 3, which is currently planned for the second quarter.
