Cyberpunk Project Orion might feature this feature, which was originally supposed to be released for Cyberpunk 2077 but was then scrapped after release.
- A job posting could indicate a feature for Cyberpunk Project Orion.
- CD Projekt Red is currently looking for a “Lead Network Programmer”.
- This hints at a multiplayer mode for an upcoming project.
Some features may be planned for Cyberpunk Project Orion that did not make it into the previous title Cyberpunk 2077. Past job advertisements indicate, among other things, the introduction of “open world” events.
CD Projekt Red has now released another Job advertisement has surfaced that may provide clues to another feature. The development studio is currently looking for a “Lead Network Programmer” to lead the implementation of online features for an upcoming project.
This job posting could indicate that one of the studio’s upcoming titles will include a multiplayer mode, but concrete details about which game it is are still missing.
Planned feature for the previous title
Already in September 2019, CD Projekt Red had been looking for new employees on X (Twitter) to develop a multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077.
In March 2021, however, the studio had “Strategy Update”-Video (from minute 20:03) explains that the introduction of this feature has been reconsidered.
In January 2024, new evidence emerged that CD Projekt Red was considering multiplayer elements for Project Orion. It is therefore reasonable to assume that the “upcoming project” is the successor to Cyberpunk 2077.
How much do you know about gaming?
What is the name of the lady from Final Fantasy shown in the picture?
However, since the job advertisement does not clearly confirm this, it could also mean The Witcher 4 or a previously unknown project.
By the way, work on Project Orion only started in January 2024. Therefore, it will probably take some time before CD Projekt Red announces official information about a potential multiplayer mode.
