A simple SMS is enough to obtain personal information and bank details. We’ll show you how to recognize the fraud attempt.
Receiving an SMS from your bank is not necessarily typical, but it is not necessarily unusual either. However, if you are a customer of Deutsche Bank, you should be extremely alert when you receive such a message and read it very carefully: it could be an attempt at fraud.
Fraudsters are currently contacting you in the name of the credit institution. The sender number is +49 15561062337 and the subject is “[DEUTSCHE BANK : WICHTIGE MITTEILUNG ]”. The pretext for the scam is an unusual one.
The SMS claims that access to your account will soon be terminated. Therefore, a certificate renewal is necessary as soon as possible. You are asked to complete the process using an attached link. The link supposedly leads to a Deutsche Bank page. In reality, however, you are directed to a phishing page.
If you enter your login details or other information there, they will be forwarded directly to the fraudsters. In the worst case scenario, they can use the stolen goods to log into your bank account and steal your money.
Your bank would never ask you to disclose your data and certainly not cancel your account access. You can therefore be sure that this is a fake. If you are unsure when you receive such a message, always contact your bank’s customer service through the official channels.
