Daybreak Games has reorganized its business into three studios.
MMO developers today announced their "Franchise Priority" program, which is structured as three independent franchise studios.
These studios are Dimensional Ink games, Darkpaw games and Rogue Planet games. Daybreak said in the press release that this is "part of a long-term strategy aimed at expanding existing franchises while enabling each studio to further develop its unique identity, community, culture and team."
The company said: "By allowing each studio's identity to flourish in its own studio, each team has the flexibility to continue developing current and upcoming games, recruit new talent and build on their respective franchises commence to work." .
Austin's Dimensional Ink Games runs and develops DC Universe Online, led by Jack Emmert of Hero City. The studio will continue to support DCUO while developing new action MMO projects starting in 2020.
Darkpaw Games will focus on EverQuest, and Holly Longdale will continue to lead the studio as executive producer.
Rogue Planet Games, a San Diego studio behind PlanetSide and PlanetSide 2, is looking to develop a new game for fans of shooting games with a new banner.
