A Days Gone 2 is still not on the agenda, but the first part could make a comeback on the PlayStation 5. Now new rumors are circulating that the next PS5 remaster could be on the way.
The PlayStation exclusive game Days Gone could appear on the scene again, even if there doesn’t seem to be a sequel. Because: The original game could obviously be the next title to receive a remaster for the current PlayStation 5, meaning it will be noticeably upgraded visually and technically.
A corresponding announcement could possibly be made soon, as rumors say there will be a new edition of the PlayStation State of Play video format next week – even if this has not yet been officially confirmed.
The speculation about a remaster of Days Gone is based on a tweet by Jordan Middler that was intended as a response to the recently leaked remaster of Horizon: Zero Dawn. “If he’s mad that his character is in Astro Bot, he’s going to lose his mind over it,” said VGC-Journalist Middler in reference to another post by insider Jeff Grubb, which talks about an “even less exciting” remaster than that of Horizon: Zero Dawn.
Middler seems to be sure of his position, because a little later he commented on another tweet that Sony would hardly spend resources remastering a 2019 game that sold around 9 million copies. His simple response to this via GIF: “You think so!”
To put the Astro Bot statement into context: Just a few weeks ago, John Garvin, writer and director of the game, spoke out via social media and attacked the developer studio Bend. The issue was that the main character Deacon St. John is now part of the recently released Astro Bot. “It’s kind of sad that Deek (aka Deacon St. John) is reduced to promoting other games… very well done Bend Studio,” he said with an ironic undertone. Before adding: “It’s also a way of protecting your own legacy!”
We will of course keep you updated on the further development of this rumor!
