The fact that Days Gone should apparently not get a sequel after all, upsets the fans of the game. An immediately launched petition for a sequel is currently collecting a lot of signatures.
It was only recently announced that Sony apparently has no interest in continuing Days Gone. Plans for a possible sequel were therefore directly thrown in the bin. The reasons given include the long development time of the first part and the mixed reactions to the game. Well, in principle everything could be done a little better in a possible sequel, but at the moment the prospects for Days Gone 2 are rather bleak.
That got really angry with the fans, because they would like to have more of the game. A recently launched Petition at Change.org seems to confirm this impressively, because meanwhile over 80,000 fans there have spoken out in favor of another Days Gone. The tenor of the petition was that one could not simply pull the plug from a game of this kind that also ended with a cliffhanger.
On the part of the author and creative director of the game, however, there has been a somewhat harsher reaction so far, which directly holds the players responsible for the cancellation of Days Gone 2. You shouldn’t complain if a game doesn’t have a sequel, if you haven’t bought it at launch and paid full price. Apparently a clear allusion to the fact that quite a few players only bought the title in a sale or recently via PS Plus.
It remains to be seen whether Sony will react to the request of the fans and the petition. After all, PC owners will still be able to enjoy the game in May – the game is due to appear on May 18th.
