The long-running survival favorite DayZ has received its second major expansion with Frostline. We’ll tell you here what’s inside!
Bohemia Interactive today released “Frostline”, the second major add-on for the long-standing survival title DayZ. This puts the focus on exploring the frosty Sakhal map and offers all sorts of new content. Ultimately, the frozen volcanic archipelago is meant to push you to your limits, full of dangers and new adventures.
In total there is an area of over 80 square kilometers to explore. The snow-covered wilderness is also quite varied, as there are dense forests as well as frozen lakes. In addition, a new survival dynamic is introduced, because in the future you will have to use not only resources but also heat carefully in order to survive.
In the pristine new archipelago, you’ll also encounter all sorts of environmental hazards, encounter new wildlife species that have adapted to the cold, and new gameplay mechanics. Among other things, during the course of the game you have to defeat new diseases, improve your fishing skills or steer drivable boats for the first time.
The Hive experience is being overhauled with the introduction of a regional loot economy. The loot on the various maps is divided according to climate and regional themes. Sakhal offers warm clothing and mainly eastern gear. In Livonia there is mainly summer clothing and western equipment. Chernarus remains a mixture of both to preserve the original atmosphere.
