There is all sorts of news about the long-running horror hit Dead by Daylight: The 2v8 mode returns in a revised version, there is a Halloween event and Castlevania content is also on the way.
Behavior Interactive has announced the comeback of the 2v8 game mode in Dead by Daylight. This will come back in a revised version between November 12th and 26th, 2024; Feedback from the community was also taken into account.
While in the first variant all survivors were available to choose from, the number of killers and cards was limited; There are now extensions in this regard as part of the second iteration. In addition to the Trapper, the Ghost, the Hillbilly, the Nurse and the Huntress, you can now also compete as a killer as the Rot, the Ghost and the Herald of Death. New maps have also been added for the worlds of Yamaoka Estate and Tomb of Glenvale 2v8 adapted, along with some other new maps for the mode’s existing worlds.
Each Survivor class (Escape Professional, Guide, Doctor, Scout) now has access to two unique skills. The unlock skills have been improved and now offer a unique talent associated with each of the Survivor classes. Each class can unlock its talent after being sent into a cage, allowing you to make game-changing moves at crucial moments.
Killers can now choose between four different classes, each offering advantages in a different aspect of the hunt. According to official information, the four killer classes are:
- Shadow – Encourages sneaking up on survivors, preventing escape attempts, and cooperation, which increases the element of surprise.
- Brute – Are an unstoppable force in chases.
- Enforcer – Exploits survivors’ weaknesses and injuries.
- Alarm Maker – Focuses on moving around the map and remaining unseen to help partner in the hunt.
Away from the 2v8 mode, a Halloween event called “Haunting in Dead by Daylight” has also been announced, which brings with it new cosmetic items and the next tome. The event runs from October 17th to November 7th and sees the return of the Void Realm.
