An Alan Wake chapter for the long-running horror hit Dead by Daylight was announced some time ago – and now it’s finally here! We’ll tell you what to expect and what the new character can do!
As promised, Behavior Interactive today made the Alan Wake chapter available for Dead by Daylight. The eponymous hero from Remedy Entertainment’s survival horror series is now represented as a survivor in the long-running horror series, expanding the list of iconic characters from other major brands.
In the Remedy series of games, Alan Wake has been a bestselling author with writer’s block since 2010. A trip to Bright Falls was supposed to clear his head, but instead set off a nightmarish chain of events that led to his disappearance and imprisonment in a mysterious, dark place.
Now he ends up as a survivor in the fog of Dead by Daylight and has to evade the killer’s clutches. With his years of experience as an author, he can draw on three of the following talents:
- Master of Light Grants additional movement speed while shining your flashlight. If the killer is successfully blinded, he will be given the Restricted status effect, temporarily slowing him down.
- With Blessing: Enlightenment Alan creates a totem that allows all nearby survivors to see the auras of generators and chests on the map. Additionally, when this totem is active, other totems can be purified and blessed more quickly.
- His third talent, Deadline, activates when Alan is injured. The talent increases the frequency of ability checks while healing other survivors or repairing generators. If a skill check is missed, the reduction in progress is halved.
From tomorrow, January 31st, “Foliant 18: Correction” will also be available to further deepen the plot. The latest tome contains new memories for Alan Wake, the Herald of Death and the House of Arkham. Progressing through the Rift and completing new gameplay challenges unlocks charms, outfits, and more for various characters, including customization options for the Alan Wake Player Card and the Alan Dark Side Outfit in the Premium Pass.
There are also new collections in the form of alternative outfits for Alan Wake. In addition to the classic Alan Wake, there is also the “Bright Falls” outfit. And: With “Saga Anderson” and “Rose Marigold” you can face the tests of the entity as an FBI agent or as a waitress at the “Oh Deer Diner” – because these two popular characters from the world of Alan Wake also make it into the game . The “Classic Alan Wake” and “Saga Anderson” outfits are available starting today, with “Bright Falls” and “Rose Marigold” following on February 6th.
Starting February 7th, the Lights Out modifier will be available as part of a limited time event. The map shrouded in darkness receives no loadout and no terror radius. This is intended to reach a new level of fear during the game.
