The long-running horror game Dead by Daylight is celebrating its seventh anniversary – and a lot of news has been announced to mark the occasion. A new sci-fi horror chapter will start in June and there are plenty of plans beyond that, as the fresh roadmap for the eighth year reveals.

On the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the horror hit Dead by Daylight, Behavior Interactive has revealed the roadmap for the eighth year since the release. “End Transmission” will start in June with a new sci-fi horror expansion, but you can also expect a lot more in the next twelve months.

Tome 16 follows in July with a new survivor (Nicolas Cage), in August another chapter with a killer, survivors and an in-game event. There will then be three more tomes (17 to 19) and three more chapters with two new killers and two fresh survivors until spring 2024; three more in-game events are also planned. And: Throughout the year there are of course regular gameplay improvements, quality-of-life optimizations and work on balancing.

Let’s get straight to the extensively presented sci-fi horror chapter “End Transmission”. Available June 13th on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows Store), PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Switch, this will take you into a strange new world.

You explore a strange planet with a unique biome with menacing flora on the new map “Toba Landing”. The map consists of three areas: One consists of buildings left behind by a greedy corporation called Huxlee, whose goal was to explore and exploit new worlds. The second area is a menacing jungle and the third is the remains of an ancient civilization. Navigating this unknown world will be as much of a challenge as escaping the killer.

Cue new killer: This one is “The Singularity” – an enlightened AI corrupted by alien technology that can spy on survivors anywhere on the map. She is an efficient, high-intellect killing machine, able to spread her presence through restructured organic matter using her biopods.

The singularity can place its biopods and transfer its consciousness onto vertical surfaces to spy on survivors and attempt to pull them into the suction to reform at their location. The pull effect causes the singularity to materialize behind a survivor and immediately give chase. A Survivor fully immersed will propagate the effect to other nearby Survivors.

Gabriel Soma, on the other hand, is an experienced technician who takes care of the ships’ escape pods and the people inside – as well as the Huxlee Center on Toba Landing. He is the sole survivor of a doomed mission. In addition to his advanced dexterity and problem-solving skills, Gabriel can also use a tool called EMP, which can be found randomly around the map when facing the Singularity. The EMP can be used to temporarily disable the killer’s biopods or remove the pull effect on other survivors.
