Dambuster Studios announces release date for second batch of story DLC dead island 2.

The DLC, which launches on April 17, revolves around the remaining content of the SoLA music festival, which was set up on an ancient venue by the event’s organizers, who clearly weren’t a very savvy bunch. Here, the beautiful bohemians of Los Angeles collide with a deadly virus sweeping through the valley, turning its inhabitants into hungry zombies as the rhythms of Hades beckon from afar: the beat of the autophagosome.

SoLA has one of the largest and most open arenas to date, with a summer festival aesthetic and a dash of splash movie vibe. There’s an interconnected world behind the stage where you can meet band members, kill band members, and explore where they stay and play.

Beyond the festival’s fields, stalls, stages and VIP areas are new characters, as well as glittering festival-goers with flowers in their hair who get a little bit obnoxious. Instead of a crowded, exciting Splash House, BottleRock or Coachella, this festival is filled with shambling crowds who don’t appreciate euphoric hugs, pacifiers, glow sticks or anywhere near the main stage.

What’s worse: the festival takes place in an ancient land where the veil between worlds has grown thinner and evil lurks. Frightening both up close and from a distance, this new horror monster is another memorable addition to a game already filled with rotten foes.

The DLC also brings new weapons, perks, and curveballs to use against Rotten Clots and Mutilated Whips, both of which are Apex Zombies. These two are just begging you to use the new Saw Blade Launcher and Ripper on them.

Here is the feature list of the DLC:

  • New story. A deadly virus sweeps through the valley, turning its inhabitants into ravenous zombies, while the rhythms of Hades beckon from afar: the beat of the autophagosome. Lured to the festival by a mysterious warning message, players must explore the ruins of SoLA and stop this otherworldly threat.
  • New location. A visceral, blood-soaked music festival in downtown Los Angeles (or HELL-A as we like to call it) that echoes with the sounds of The Beat, threatening to turn the living into zombies and, potentially, the entire world Hear the world.
  • New enemies. Including Whip, a new top variant enemy driven mad by the self-loathing of the Autophagosome. Their urge to self-mutilate turns them into horrific nightmares of disemboweled creatures, allowing them to lash out at a range. Clott is another new unsettling over-the-top zombie that can disintegrate into a sickening pile of gore, making it immune to damage from this form, and then reform elsewhere to continue the fight. Able to eject powerful blasts of rotten blood from the heart.
  • New legendary weapons. The Ripper, for example: a lethal fusion of a baseball bat and a buzz saw into a percussive dismemberment machine. Saw Blade Launcher: A heavy weapon that fires a rotating saw blade; perfect for long-range decapitation and dismemberment.

Dead Island 2 is available on the Epic Games Store for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game will be released on Steam on April 22nd.
