All of this analysis and speculation is a fun part of any such remaster’s release, but one thing that’s unclear from any of the footage is the fate of Dead Rising’s iconic soundtrack – which includes a slew of licensed tracks from real-life bands, as well as Capcom’s original score and arcade vibes. Speaking to iGamesNews, a Capcom spokesperson confirmed that “licensed music will return” in the deluxe remake – meaning some of the game’s most iconic musical moments may remain.
These moments would include the boss fight with the prison escapee, which is set to Lifeseeker’s “Gone Guru,” Hostile Groove’s “Fly Routine,” which follows Frank West as he battles a deranged supermarket manager, and Lockjaw’s “Bored Again,” the theme song for the human sacrifice cult that appears in a mall halfway through the game.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles on September 19, 2024.
