Last year there were already indications of a possible comeback of the horror series Dead Space. Now speculation is picking up again.
According to the latest rumors it is said that EA Motive is working on a comeback of an “established EA-IP”. The usually very well-informed insider Jeff Grubb left that off Gamesbeat in a new edition of the Game Mess broadcast. As early as March of this year, Grubb had confirmed that the studio most recently responsible for Star Wars: Squadrons was working on a well-known brand and added at the time: “I think you will be happy about it.”
In the newer edition, Grubb added that the new title will be presented at the EA Play Live event in July. Followed by the sentence: “We’re going to see it, if we’re not dead first.”
This phrase is understood in many places as a clear indication that the established IP is the survival horror series Dead Space. So maybe we can shudder again in the person of the protagonist Isaac Clarke in the sci-fi universe.
The series last appeared in 2013 with Dead Space 3. At that time, the franchise was given a much more action-oriented approach, including co-op components. Logically, there is no official statement from EA about the new rumors. We will keep you up to date.
