Last July, Electronic Arts announced the return of poor Isaac Clarke in a remake of Dead Space. but how long did the developers work on it?
After ten years of apparently appalling silence, Isaac Clarke will resume service in the remake of the first episode of Dead Space, which for the time being keeps many secrets. Last September, the developers at Motive Studios Philippe Ducharme and Roman Campos-Oriola spoke in front of the camera to unveil a pre-production version of the game that they qualified as “very early”. However, the work could have started more than a year ago.
It makes a damn good Clarke
Our colleagues from WCftech actually did their little research and found that most of the key architects of Dead Space’s return had joined the Motive studio in the summer of 2020, as evidenced by their respective LinkedIn pages. This is indeed the case with the manufacturer Philippe, duch poorwho said goodbye to Ubisoft Montreal; by the artist who specializes in special effects Maximilian Faubert
So everything indicates that this little world has been working on the remake of Dead Space since the summer of 2020, almost a year and a half. However, this relatively short period of time in view of such a project has enabled the team to make many decisions as we already know that Dead Space will keep the level design of the original and take advantage of SSD hard drives (well) and will even use some of its mechanics from Rent Dead Space 2. Ah, and Isaac Clarke will even speak, sorry!
But that players are in a hurry to find the universe, this calendar obviously does not indicate the actual progress of this remake, which will have the difficult task of producing one since … The Dead Space remake is officially available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S expected, but has no release date yet.
