Last summer, Deadly Premonition 2 was released for the Switch, now the horror game is set to conquer another platform.
After the success of Deadly Premontion, a second part was published exclusively on Nintendo’s Switch in July 2020. Recently it had been rather quiet about the open world horror game, but now there is news again: Deadly Premonition 2 has now been confirmed for another platform.
As publisher Rising Star Games confirmed in an annual report for 2020, the second part of the franchise will now also find its way to the PC in the current year 2021. Accordingly, a release of the corresponding implementation via Steam is planned; A specific release date has not yet been announced.
After the Switch release last summer, the title had been discussed controversially. On the one hand there were all sorts of problems in terms of frame rate, on the other hand the representation of transsexuals in the game caused debates. Later a patch was added that addressed the sometimes poor presentation on the subject of transsexuality as well as the frame rate.
Deadly Premonition 2 basically takes place in today’s Boston, but the storytelling of the title always transports you back to Le Carre. Overall, the game therefore functions as both a prequel and a sequel to the original game. It follows Agents Davis and Jones as they begin a new investigation into the Le Carre serial murders.
