Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 was one of the games that complained about unforgettable LAN parties (tip: Lots of Prisma tanks beat anything!).

Before our podcast about LAN parties can start, we need to go through the most important questions: Do you see us in the network environment? Are we in the same working group? Is the folder shared? What IP does the server have? And does someone have a Windows CD with them?

Gosh, LAN parties! In the podcast we remember the sometimes crazy, sometimes simply lovable experiences that sleep-free network gatherings have brought us – and in one case even bring them to this day.

Because this time Michael Graf and Florian Franck talk to Henner Thomsen (known from GameStar videos and from Stay Forever), who is not only involved in wild battles in Command & Conquer: Alarmstufe Rot 2 or Quake 3: Arena remembers, but hosts LAN parties to this day.

Micha and Flo also spent a lot of time with them back then Counter-Strike (of course the beta version), with Starcraft or Team Fortress Classic – once it worked. At least the first day of a LAN party consisted of cabling, networking and cursing if a computer did not want to be found again.

At least one party guest was therefore obliged to reinstall Windows. And what made us drag 17-inch CRT monitors through world history is probably difficult for today’s youth ™ to understand.

For us, however, the LAN party is a cult. A part of our gaming life that we will never forget. High time for a declaration of love.
