Gaming News Delta Force impressed me! This shooting video game takes on the likes of Battlefield and Escape from Tarkov…
While Black Ops 6 is out in a few days, another FPS is currently strutting through the aisles of the Steam Neo Fest. Its name is Delta Force, and chances are it’s going to make some noise.
If Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 promises to be a particularly solid installment, perhaps another FPS will spring a surprise at the end of the year. Yes, during the Steam Neo Fest, a certain Delta Force – recently with subtitles again Hawk Ops – offers a fairly generous “demo”. Here, From October 14th to 21st, you can experience two of the three main modes of Team Jade’s shooter on PC : Tactical torture, extraction contactor, and Devastating War, a 100% PvP battlefield experience in 32v32 mode. When the game is released in its final version, the team also plans to add a single-player campaign! Delta Force will be available in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store before the end of 2024. And the icing on the cake is that it will be free to play.
Simple and (above all) very effective
Let’s start at the beginning, the first mode Delta Force offers is Tactical Torment. So it is like thatExtraction shooter that takes up all the codes of the genre: you choose your equipment carefully before entering the battlefield; Once there, the inventory is limited and you have to divide the available space between loot and weapons/ammo; Once you have finished shopping, you must exit; And only if you pass this step will the loot be kept. As is often the case, in this case there is a mixture of PvE and PvP.
Of course, when I launched Delta Force I didn’t feel like I was being sold a revolution of this kind, and in a way that’s a good thing. Once you have completed the tutorial and understood the menus, l’Extraction shooter
A little madness can’t hurt
All in all, I quickly had fun and that bodes well for the future… But to give the clashes a bit of personality, Delta Force relies on a dimension Hero shooter : In the two modes currently available, each of the seven operators benefits from their own abilities (their weapons remain 100% customizable). And this creates some welcome originalitieslike a homing gun that lets you heal teammates from a distance, or an exoskeleton that – once activated – sends you racing at top speed and even allows you to knock over your enemies. Note that Delta Force never left us feeling overwhelmed after that first taste. Most “fart” forces are subject to a Cooldown time
Battlefield better watch out
But despite all that, we haven’t told you about the other “star” of Delta Force: the “Devastating War” mode, which, as the name suggests, offers large-scale clashes (in 32v32 mode). Here too, Team Jade is doing well, even very well: We really felt like we were reliving the golden age of Battlefieldwith a modern map, players running in all directions, whistling bullets, explosions (part of the scenery is destructible) and all that hustle and bustle… And if the soundscape of Delta Force doesn’t still seem at the level of the leaders of the genre and its visuals, on the other hand, clearly have nothing to be ashamed of. Technically speaking, Team Jade’s FPS is super solid and delivers impressive combat with ease. The same applies to the feelings of shootwhich seemed completely flawless to us (we didn’t have the opportunity to test the vehicles, however). So many arguments that already make Delta Force – very – attractive! As a reminder, the Steam Néo Fest demo is available until October 21st. Otherwise, you will have to wait for the Early Access release.
