Game news Demon Slayer: finally a release date for the fighting game … but in Japan
While the animated film is still talking of him, a new game Demon Slayer is just around the corner and its release is slowly taking shape: it actually goes by the cute name of Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles and is still just about right revealing its release date … in the Land of the rising sun.
It’s been a while since Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles was announced: today we know that it will take the form of a punchy fighting game with famous faces like Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira in its cast and Giyu Tomioka , Sakonji Urokodaki, Makomo or Sabito. Everything is developed by Aniplex and since the new trailers follow one another we poor westerners will be (impatiently) waiting for a release date.
We have one today, but unfortunately it only affects the one planned in Japan: It is therefore set for October 14, 2021 at a price of 8,360 yen (or 62.77 dollars) for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC via Steam. Note that after a stupid and nasty changeover, a Digital Deluxe Edition has also been announced for 9,900 yen or 74.31 dollars.
Finally, an “ultimate” version is also promised, which is only reserved for the PS4: it costs 16,280 yen and includes the game, a minifigure holder to place on the controller (Tanjiro, Insouke and Zenitsu), early access to the character of Kimetsu Gakuen, 13 PSN avatars, a new fixed theme and another dynamic for the PS4, the in-game Butterfly Mansion Patient costume, and finally Kimetsu points.
Note that these many details are taken from the famous magazine Famitsufrom its last edition published in Japan. Unfortunately, Aniplex has still not given details on a western release: however, some see it as a guide to arriving in Europe as the English dubbing is well and properly planned. We keep our fingers crossed.
