In December, Sony Pictures will offer a new film in its Spider-Verse, Kraven the Hunter: Here's a few minutes of new making-of.
A massacre from the start
We won't teach you anything if we tell you that the MCU has made everyone want expanded universes, including Sony Pictures, which ultimately owns the juicy rights to one of the most popular (and profitable) superheroes in history: Spider-Man. Then the company came up with the idea of creating the Spider-Verse, a world that would revolve around the spider's iconic adversaries… but without them appearing.which raised the public's hope of seeing her again one day.
Not only has that day still not arrived, but this expanded universe is also known for a number of critical disasters. Venom, the first of the name, will have laid the foundation : Despite the heavily criticized treatment of the supervillain, the film is a huge commercial success, grossing $856 million. Enough to encourage a sequel, Venom Let Be There Carnage ($506 million), with a 49% average on Metacritic.

Morbius, starring Jared Leto, is considered one of the worst films of the year (35% on Metacritic and a commercial flop), just like Madame Web this year, only 26% on Metacritic and an even weaker box office result. As for Venom The Final Dance, which has just hit theaters, has the same story with a score of 41% but still reaches the $ 400 million threshold that was reached a few days ago.

Nevertheless, Sony does not give up, despite the disgusting reviews and the dirty reputation of its universe: after all, the hope of finally getting a good surprise remains, and The next step is Kraven the Hunter, played here by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. An R-rated film, i.e. with obviously brutal and graphic violence, which promises a slightly more bloodthirsty experience than the very neutral Venom, to name just a few.
