It’s that time again- Destiny 2 The annual skin bump is back, this time with a new and improved option monster vs mech, the winner will get a spot in the Destiny 2 cosmetic store in the near future. Every Destiny 2 player willing to subscribe to emails from bungie will be able to vote for their team of choice, with the winner joining the game later this year.
Community voting will begin on April 7th and will run for nearly a full week through April 13th. At that point, votes will be tallied, and everyone who votes will receive an exclusive Shattered Barrier badge for free. So even if you don’t think your team of choice won’t win this year, it’s worth having your voice heard.
Let’s take a closer look at these designs, starting with the monsters. On the left, we have a cyclops/monkey hybrid, mostly covered in smooth metal armor, except for your dad’s furry legs that take up the bottom half. Next we have a cool fish taking center stage, packing a glowing visor and elbow pads for illuminating dark places. In the end, the best skin to date, we have a super plain Godzilla on the right side – complete with a huge tail cape. This is awesome, and frankly, the monster team is lonely.
Looking at the mech team, it’s clear that all three were inspired by Gundam and other iconic Touhou robot designs. On the far left is Delicious Rock, a blue-and-white colorway reminiscent of the original Gundam. The center has a more nebulous look in terms of inspiration, but manages to stand out from the rest with the glossy panels and fabric on the back. Finally, the orange mech on the right is the certified winner – you’ll love the asymmetrical armor.
