The new expansion Destiny 2: Lightfall starts on February 28th and Bungie is up to its ears in the preparations. In the new This Week at Bungie there is more information about the release.
Bungie is hard at work getting everything ready for the release of the new Destiny 2 expansion on February 28th. Accordingly, Bungie has already announced the downtimes you have to expect for the release of the expansion.
According to this, the Destiny 2 servers will be taken offline for a whopping 24 hours on February 27th from 6 p.m. – not a little for the impatient fans. However, you can use the downtime to pre-load the expansion, which is supposed to be huge. In addition to the new content, you can also look forward to the new client taking up less storage space. In addition, the update should also significantly improve the loading times of the game. If all goes well, Destiny 2: Lightfall should be available on February 28th at 6 p.m.
Bungie is already warning that queues can be expected for Lightfall’s launch, especially at the beginning and during core seasons. Experience has shown that one can also assume that the servers will not necessarily run smoothly at first and that one or the other error will creep in with the expansion. Destiny 2 recently had to be taken offline for several hours, along with a rollback, because an error had crept into a hotfix.
Even before the release of Lightfall, some updates are still to be expected, Bungie is already preparing numerous changes, especially in weapon balancing. In addition to the continuation of the story, Lightfall also comes with new game features, above all a completely revised mod system and the possibility of finally being able to create and save loadouts. Let’s hope not too much goes wrong…
