The postponement of Destiny 2: The Witch-kings from autumn to February is now bearing fruit. As Bungie confirmed, the development is on the home stretch.

The postponement of Destiny 2: The Witch Queen has messed up Bungie’s release cadence a bit. If you were used to getting a new expansion in autumn, now the beginning of the year seems to be the new pattern. Anyway, it was obviously worth it, as development of the expansion is nearing completion, as Game Director Joe Blackburn confirmed on Twitter.

Apparently, nothing stands in the way of the release on February 22nd and the start of season 16 is also imminent. This is sure to please fans already awaiting the return of Savathûn. The Witch Queen is the second installment in what was originally planned as a trilogy of expansions that began with Beyond Light. The third part, Lightfall, is to follow in 2023, and in 2024 The Final Shape will complete the series, which has meanwhile grown into a four-part series.

Alongside the status report, Bungie also released more information about the changes coming to the game with The Witch Queen and Season 16. In the future, you will be able to unlock all 25 Season Artifact mods instead of just 12. There will also be a number of additions and changes, including some popular anti-champion mods and new mods for the new Glaive weapon class.

In addition, the cost of element changing Masterwork armor pieces will be massively reduced, giving you the opportunity to rebuild more easily and thus have less armor pieces to stash away for different builds. There will also be changes to Orbs of Power generation from weapons. You can find all the details in current Bungie Blog read.
