There’s a new Destiny! However, the upcoming offshoot of Bungie’s popular shooter series will be significantly different than most fans expect – because it is not a Destiny 3. Instead, Destiny: Rising, a free mobile offshoot of the sci-fi franchise, is now in the starting blocks and is intended to build on the strengths of the two previous parts. Rising is being developed on behalf of Sony by the Chinese developer studio NetEase Games, which is known for its work on Diablo Immortal and Once Human, among other things. According to the first press release, Rising offers both a PvE mode, with a complete campaign for up to 6 players, and various PvP modes. The events of Rising should take place in an alternative timeline than the previous Destiny parts. There is no specific release date for Destiny: Rising yet. However, a closed alpha phase for the shooter will start on November 1st, for which you can register now on the shooter’s website. The title is released for iOS and Android devices.
