Quantic Dream’s games are often said to be more like a film than an interactive product. Such statements were also made in the case of Detroit: Become Human, but this did not detract from the success of the game. Because as the development studio has now announced, another milestone has been achieved.
In January 2023, the French studio Quantic Dream announced that Detroit: Become Human had sold over 8 million units, and in December it had already sold 9 million units. Of course, the number of units sold continues to decline with each month after release, which makes the latest milestone that Detroit: Become Human has now achieved all the more impressive.

Guillaume de Fondaumière, the studio’s co-CEO and co-founder, is now speaking out on Twitter (blabla X). According to him, a whopping 10 million units of the game film have now been sold. The sales refer to both the version for the PC and the PlayStation 4. PlayStation 5 sales are also likely to be included; thanks to backwards compatibility, Detroit: Become Human will also run on Sony’s new console.
There are now more and more fan voices calling for a native version on the PlayStation 5. After all, more and more titles from the last generation are being implemented, for example a remastered version of Horizon: Zero Dawn was recently confirmed.
Whether there really is a need for a remastered version of Horizon: Zero Dawn is probably in the eye of the beholder. The title was originally released on the PlayStation 4 in 2018, and was ported to the PC the next year. Due to the reduced gameplay and the often fixed viewing angles, Quantic Dream was able to conjure up a lot of beautiful graphics on the screen that can still be seen today.
